Being Away From Home Is No Longer An Excuse With Portable Exercise Equipment And Workout Apparel

Those of us who are dedicated to getting our exercise in daily will often find that we cannot do it when we are away from home. Not all hotel gyms are alike, so what is a dedicated fitness enthusiast to do? The best thing they can do for themselves is to invest in some portable exercise equipment and workout apparel. This way, they do not have to break up their normal routine just to travel. Your body will thank you for it later, because you will have kept your promise to yourself, and you will not be sorry later for missing out while away from home.
Choosing your portable exercise equipment and workout apparel
If you travel a lot for business or pleasure, then you should purchase portable exercise equipment and workout apparel with your particular travel conditions in mind. If you fly, then you want to purchase and pack items that will give you your best workout, but still be light enough to tote around. You also have to keep getting through airport security in mind, so toting around that folding home gym in a bag may not be worth the hassle.
If your travel accommodations are generally centered around traveling by car, you then will have a wider range of equipment possible for purchase. Just keep in mind that in order to get a good workout, you will have to regularly unpack and repack your portable exercise equipment and workout apparel, so be certain that you are going to be up for the effort required.
Types Of Portable Exercise Equipment
There are several types of portable exercise equipment available for the traveler, from the basic and simple to the truly extravagant. At the basic, simple level, you can purchase various levels of barbells, kettle bells and resistance bands that can replace standard weights for both strength and weight training. These are extremely portable and will not add too much weight to your luggage when checking it in for a flight.
For aerobic exercising on the go, nothing beats a good, old fashioned jump rope. For yoga, mats are perhaps the most portable of all, rolling up into cylinders that will fit inside the average duffel bag. This will allow you to get in both regular stretching exercises, as well as your normal yoga routines. You can also purchase inflatable exercise balls to work your core while out of town, which will take up very little space in your luggage as a bonus.
Workout Gear And Apparel
If you regularly workout, you may already have enough workout gear and apparel on hand that you can just slip into the luggage and go. If not, you will need a music player to keep you company while working out, with enough downloaded to keep it interesting, without being boring. For portable exercise equipment and workout apparel, just go with the basics. The basics need not be extravagant, simple T-shirts, sweat pants or shorts will do, as most hotels are temperature controlled.
